Another Transitional Outfit

It’s too hot to wear jeans but one can dream. It’s about this time that I was to burn all my favorite summer clothes. If the temperature dips below 78 degrees I pull out the jeans and can’t wait to wear this outfit again.

Rebecca Taylor Spring Floral Voile Top – This blouse is a little bit of a departure for me I loved the little pattern and ruffle details. It’s extremely light so it can be worn in the summer. It would actually look great with the Ann Taylor Linen Skirt I posted last week but I think jeans soften the sweetness. It’s a little sheer so you may want to layer a little silk camisole under it for modesty although I just wear a nude bra. It’s on sale so if you size is sold out, you can also find it here and here.

J.Crew Curvy Toothpick Jeans – These are my new favorite jeans although the high waist takes some time to adjust to when you first wear them. They stretch but don’t bag out and also come in petite and tall. I bought the regular size first but they were very high. I cut them hem so they would be raw and still wear them but I also bought them in petite and they don’t need hemmed at all. I’m saving that pair for autumn to wear with flats. TMI alert, high waist jeans feel better with a high waist undergarment but you might not want to wear those on a date. Also, they are the exact color as in the product photo not as dark as the model photo.

Suede Flat Sandals – I’m trying to branch out from wearing my Roger Vivier Chips Sandals every day so I have been wearing these flat suede sandals in tan and black. They are super comfortable and look just like a more expensive designer shoe.

Small Hobo Bag – This is still one of my favorite bags since it looks small but fits a surprising amount of stuff. It comes with a thin strap but I added on the wider strap to wear cross body. I just saw that it comes in burgundy for fall but there is not a wider strap for that color yet.

Jaws Book – I heard that the book is better than the movie so of course I wanted to find out for myself. You can get a new copy anywhere but I love this vintage copy with the original cover from Mate Gallery.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Look Palette – I’m loving this blue and pale eyeshadow for summer. I love make-up palettes where you can throw it in your bag and have everything you need but don’t forget a blush brush.

Deborah Lippmann Baby Love Nail Polish – It may be boring to you but I only wear this one nail polish on my fingernails. It’s the perfect pale pink/nude color and I love how I don’t have to think about what color I’m going to choose. I take it to my nail salon along with this base coat and this top coat.

I really wish I had a pale blue bag for this outfit but I might have to work on that for my next outfit.

XOXO,

HC
