If interior designer Billy Ceglia can make a motley crew of assorted spaces in the Kips Bay Show House Palm Beach look good, imagine what he can do in a whole house. He was assigned the downstairs back hallway, a bathroom that is the public restroom for the house, a small mudroom, the back staircase, a very narrow upstairs landing, and another hallway. He designed the space with photographer Nick Mele and his family in mind. Nick takes very quirky photos of his family which adorn most of the spaces. There is a fun custom candy drawer for the kids and a bar for the adults downstairs while the all the spaces are clad in bright green textured paint, drapery panels with bands inspired by photos of a dress, black and white stripes, fun wallpaper, and graphic art. All the draperies and shades in Billy’s room and throughout the house were provided by The Shade Store. Billy’s sunny personality and bright spaces were the perfect antidote to the rainy day outside when I toured the house on Saturday.

You can see some other rooms in my Instagram highlight folder Kips Bay PB and I will be posting more rooms after I get back to New York. If you need to escape the latest Polar Vortex, the Kips Bay Show House Palm Beach runs through February 20, 2019.

Photos are a mix from Nick Mele, Kips Bay Instagram, and myself.
