Outfit Inspiration from Carolyn Bessette Kennedy

Did you watch The Last Days of John F. Kennedy, Jr. last week?  The best part was seeing videos of him with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. We normally see photos of her running away from the paparazzi so it was nice to see her smiling and actually hear her voice. It’s also amazing that her fashion style still looks good 20 years later. Shortly after I saw this photo of her very chic black coat ensemble with JFK, Jr., I came across the photo of Stockholm based fashion stylist Linn Hägglund in an updated version of the outfit. There are so many “influencers” who pile on colorful fashions that end up looking like a costume. Caroline adds some fashion forward elements to her wardrobe but still manages to look like an adult. I’ve put together a few outfits inspired by her and Carolyn. I’ve kept the flat shoes both are wearing but obviously those of you in cold climates can wear boots or sneakers now and transition to sockless styles later as the weather warms up. Although, it was 60 degrees in the midwest yesterday so anything is possible. I’ve also added some beauty products perfect for the winter months.

I love a collarless coat like this belted double-breasted wool-blend felt coat.

Black cashmere crewneck sweater

10″ higher-rise toothpick eco jean with let-down hem

Chanel Ballet Flats

Bottega Veneta Intrecciato leather shoulder bag

It’s always good to switch to a heavier cream in the winter and Chanel Sublimage La Creme is one of my favorites.

I love this knit-trimmed wool coat but it looks unlined so not for the coldest winter weather.

Camel Crewneck Cashmere Sweater
Cropped high-rise slim boyfriend jeans

Leopard Print Haircalf Tassel Flats

New Celine medium satiny calfskin leather bag

I ran out of another serum and went back to using Joanna Vargas Rejuvenating Serum. It’s incredibly hydrating for winter and is also a favorite of Sofia Coppola.

Navy single-breasted wool-blend coat – on sale

Dark navy crewneck cashmere sweater

Curvy toothpick jean in Dryden wash

I love these pale sand colored Chloe Lauren scalloped leather ballet flats with navy.

This Wandler Hortensia medium color-block leather shoulder bag would match any outfit.

Crème de la Mer is another great winter moisturizer and even better for plane travel.

You can’t go wrong with this winter white wool-blend felt coat as long as the weather is dry.

Ivory crewneck cashmere sweater

Frame high-rise slim-leg jeans

I consider these Chloe Lauren scalloped snake-effect leather ballet flats a neutral.

This leather shoulder bag looks very similar to the Celine Classic Bag but it’s much less expensive.

Dr. Barbara Sturm is a cult favorite skincare brand and her Hyaluronic Serum is great for winter since hyaluronic acid keeps skin hydrated and plumped.

I met my college boyfriend while wearing a red duffle coat and I’ve always wanted another red coat like this Weekend Max Mara wool coat. A red is especially nice in the depths of dreary winter weather.

How fun are these Gucci leather-trimmed tweed loafers?

This large patent leather-trimmed suede tote is a super chic way to carry your daily essentials.

I love using this La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask when my skin is looking a little dry or I have an important morning meeting the next day.
