Over four years ago, I wrote about Catherine Deneuve’s house in Normandy with grounds designed by landscape architect Jacques Wirtz was for sale. She took it off the market or it didn’t find a buyer until recently. Chateau de Primard was where she kept her haute couture collection of fashions made for her by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent over their 40 year friendship. Now that the house has sold, the pieces she housed there can be yours when they come up for auction. ‘These are the clothes of such a talented man who only designed clothes to beautify women.” – Catherine Deneuve

“On 24 January in Paris, during Haute Couture Fashion Week, Christie’s will auction close to 130 of the haute couture ensembles YSL made for his favourite private client, along with several Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche pieces, with around 170 further lots offered in a special online sale 23-30 January.” ‘These are the clothes of such a talented man who only designed clothes to beautify women.” – Catherine Deneuve

I wonder if an auction of the chateau will be next. I will keep you posted.
