Wimbledon Worthy Dresses

I love watching Wimbledon for the tennis and the fashion. There is a “smart casual” dress code at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club for spectators but those invited to sit in the Royal Box adhere to a strict dress code which includes “a demure dress for ladies and a jacket, tie and proper shoes for men.” Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is a patron of the All England Club and watched several matches this past week and even presented the trophies at the men’s final.

On Saturday, she wore an old green Dolce & Gabbana dress while her sister Pippa Middleton Matthews wore a bespoke Anna Mason dress that you can order online and have in four weeks. (You can also buy ready-to-wear options here.) I loved the blue print of the dress and had already put together a post of blue patterned and solid dresses inspired by here when the Duchess of Cambridge wore a pale blue custom Emilia Wickstead dress to Wimbledon on Sunday. Both looks are perfect for summer weddings and events and I’ve put together some similar styles that can also be worn to work or on the weekend. I personally want them all!

I love the flowers on this bloom floral-print cotton dress. It’s perfect for a summer wedding.

When I was in Newport, there were a lot of yachting events. This ship-print midi dress would have been perfect for them.

This powder blue wool-blend dress has a great silhouette and is on sale.

I could definitely see Pippa Middleton Matthews wearing this snakeskin-print linen dress.

This gathered floral-print silk-georgette maxi dress has a very romantic feel.

This pretty pleated skirt dress is a beautiful shade of blue and it’s on sale too.

I thought the Duchess of Cambridge’s dress looked like it was made of a seersucker fabric so this striped cotton-seersucker midi dress could be a great alternative.

This floral jacquard dress is on sale and an extra 30% off with the code EXTRA30.

I love this blue ruffle-trimmed linen dress for hot summer days.

I love this tropical-print satin midi dress so much that it might have to be the one I buy myself.

You could dress this stripe & tiered cotton dress up or down.

This wool crepe midi dress is another pretty dress for day weddings and chic events. It’s also available with longer sleeves and black buttons.

I love the shade of blue of this Botanical Garden Print Midi Dress and it’s on sale.

This cotton midi dress would be perfect for the heat wave expected in New York this week. Wear it in the office with a blazer or at the beach on weekends.

This paneled wool-crepe dress looks retro and modern all at once.

This Stripe Twill Midi Dress is another option that could be worn to work with a blazer and on weekends without one.

I wish my size wasn’t sold out in this a-line sleeveless shirtdress in striped cotton poplin. It’s perfect for the dog days of summer.
