Aerin Lauder in Paris

This week has been a little crazy. As soon as I returned from Nantucket, I jumped into styling my friend’s apartment for a photoshoot today. In the midst of all my running around, I did manage to pick up a few of the September magazines including the new Elle Decor with Aerin Lauder in Paris on the cover.

I remember Aerin mentioning her family’s apartment in Paris during an event at her home in Southampton in 2013. I don’t remember her mentioning the decor so I was a little surprised that it was so modern. I do always think it’s an interesting idea to veer away from one’s usual style in a second or third home and try something new. I experienced this myself in my contemporary white apartment in Paris and enjoyed the lack of possessions. Although, my apartment didn’t have a view of the Eiffel Tower. I’ll have to work on that for the next one.

To read the entire story and find credits, pick up the September 2019 issue of Elle Decor or click here.

“Vintage chairs are by Prouvé, and the circa-1960 rug is attributed to Paule Leleu. The vases on the custom mantel are by Jouve, and the artwork is by Piero Manzoni.”

“The 1950s sofa is by Jean Royère, and both the vintage chair and cocktail table are by Jean Prouvé. The round table is by Patrick Jouin. The sculpture seen at right is by Agnes Martin.”

“A custom table and circa-1930 cafeteria chairs by Prouvé; the Isamu Noguchi Akari lamp is vintage.”

“The walls of the master bedroom are clad in sycamore. The space also includes a Vintage Gio Ponti luggage rack and Serge Mouille sconces. The photograph to the left of the bed is by Thomas Struth.”
