I can’t believe there are only 12 more days until Christmas. I have so many things to do before then that I’m a little stressed out about how I’m going to get it all done. If you’re behind on things like shopping, there are quite a few wonderful pop ups worth visiting in New York right now.

My favorite design duo of Ann and Sid Mashburn have a very chic pop up at 769 Madison Avenue at 66th Street until December 22, 2019. Upstairs is filled with Ann Mashburn chic cashmere sweaters, silk blouses, coats, and more while the Sid Mashburn menswear is relegated to the clubhouse downstairs that also includes a pool table. Even the antiques are for sale from Elizabeth Pash which you can see in my first photo. We’re all hoping the pop up does well so they will stay permanently in New York so definitely stop by and shop.

Lingua Franca has also opened a new permanent store uptown at 801 Madison Avenue. Founder Rachelle Hruska MacPherson was inspired by the Christian Berard painted interiors of the Guerlain store in Paris and had artist Pauline de Roussy de Sales hand-paint the entire store. The upper floor includes an area for custom orders for the iconic embroidered sweaters that make great gifts.

A group of small brands have set up shop together at the Holiday on Madison pop up at 831 Madison Avenue which will be open until December 23, 2019. A few of the brands include Land of Belle for table top, Paravel for luggage, RAC Lifestyle for gifts, Markarian fashions, Dubini jewelry, and Falke legwear.

I haven’t been yet but Cuyana has also opened a holiday gift shop at 1114 Madison Avenue. I don’t know how long they will be open so you might want to check it out before Christmas.

Most store are devoted to women so it’s nice that Tiffany & Co. has a Men’s Holiday Pop Up around the corner from the iconic store at 6 East 57th Street that will be open until January 6, 2020. The Tiffany Men’s collection includes accessories, barware, home objects, games and other luxury objects. Custom Tiffany x Spalding basketballs, a pool table, and a motorcycle that already had a sold sign on it.

One of my friends outside of New York was the one who alerted me to the Strasbourg-Alsace Christmas Market at Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan that runs until December 22, 2019. This genuine Christmas Village will include thirty authentic wooden chalets imported from Alsace, France with unique handcrafted products and delicious culinary specialties of Alsace. There will be fun activities for children such as Santa’s House, locomotive with hot chestnuts, and children’s choir. I hope I have time to check it out before it closes.

Chanel has set up a Chanel N°5 in the Snow, a holiday pop-up at The Standard High Line to celebrate the season and Chanel’s holiday 2019 campaign for N°5 L’EAU. Chanel N°5 in the Snow is free and open to the public until December 15, 2019 from noon until 10:00pm daily. Visitors can skate on the rink, warm up with hot chocolate and treats, and enjoy other activities.

My friends at Mate Gallery at the Montecito Country Mart have opened a men’s shop next door to their wonderful store full of vintage and new treasures. I wish I lived in California so I could visit so stop by and shop for me.

I keep telling myself that I’m not allowed to buy one more book until I read the ones sitting in the stack by my bed but I will break that promise for The Cartiers: The Untold Story of the Family Behind the Jewelry Empire. Author Francesca Cartier Brickell tells “the captivating story of the family behind the Cartier empire and the three brothers who turned their grandfather’s humble Parisian jewelry store into a global luxury icon—as told by a great-granddaughter with exclusive access to long-lost family archives.” Would make a great gift for any Francophile or jewelry lover.

Have you watched season three of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel yet? I watched it this week and this it’s the best season yet. Some of her old stand up comedy routines gave me second-hand embarrassment but I was laughing out loud during every episode this time. It’s a good time to watch while you’re wrapping presents or making holiday cookies.

This time of year always compels me to watch award nominated movies so I know what everyone is talking about. Since Marriage Story launched on Netflix, I decided to give it a try and do not know what all the fuss is about. It seems like the film was popular among critics but audience reactions like mine were negative. The Irishman also just debuted on Netflix but I don’t have three and a half hours to devote to that one yet. Someone suggested I see Parasite but I might wait until it’s available on demand in January. I also still want to see Knives Out but don’t have time to see it in a theatre until after the holidays.
