This is one of my favorite photos I’ve taken in Paris because it shows how you can wear sneakers with different outfits and at different ages and still look chic. When I first moved to New York, sneakers were not a thing you wore outside of the gym. It was all about freezing in bare legs with Manolos in the winter so I’m so happy that comfortable clothing and shoes are the norm now. My go to casual sneaker for years was the retro style New Balance 410 but since they were discontinued I struggled to find a replacement. That’s why I was so excited to recently find the Nike Daybreak Sneaker. The Daybreak is reissue of the 1979 style with the iconic rubber waffle sole was created by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman who was inspired by his wife’s waffle maker to create a sole that could improved grip and traction. The new styles have very interesting color combinations to jazz up any outfit.
I’ve includes styles for women and men but they are really unisex. For women, you just size down 1.5 sizes from the men’s sizes. For example, I’m a women’s size 7 so I would be a size 5.5 in men’s sneakers. A few colors are also on sale.
