My Recent Etsy Finds

In the past year, I’ve found myself buying much more from Etsy. There are so many lovely and creative people running their entire companies on the platform and offering great prices. I’ve put together some of the things I’ve recently purchased and some things that have caught my eye.

I’m not usually one for dupes or knock-offs but when the original Picnic Bag is not available from the brand and is selling for $50,000-100,000 on the resale market, I make an exception. I actually bought this exact style basket bag from another seller but this Handcrafted Wicker Bag with Genuine Leather looks like a higher quality than mine. It’s available in tan and white in four different sizes. I bought the 25cm size which I think is the perfect size for a summer basket bag. They come with shoulder straps too which gives you a hands-free option.

I just ordered a few sizes of a different wicker bag that I will share with you later or I would buy this one too. In actuality, I will probably will buy this one at some point even if I don’t use it until next summer. It’s a great bag.

I’ve lived in my current apartment for the last 10 years so it was time to make a few changes. I just noticed that the pillow that sits on my desk chair was looking worse for wear so I ordered this Cowton & Tout Bowood Pillow in Linen. If I were to order the fabric myself and send it to my upholsterer to have the pillow made, it would be so more expensive and probably take much longer to arrive so this was a no brainer. I did the fabric on both sides because I personally don’t like one sided pillow fabric but you can order a few different options and sizes and colors.

I have pillows on my sofa that are made from Hollyhock fabric from Lee Jofa that was also seen better days but I may have to order that fabric myself so I can get the colorway I prefer.

I wanted to switch up some of the art in my bedroom and bathroom and found a lovely landscape from seller ModRendition. They have a lot of pretty vintage impressionist landscape paintings and seascapes right now but they are always adding to their inventory. Everything they sell has been reframed and is ready to hang which is nice but I also wish they gave the option of keeping the original vintage from if there was one.

I just ordered this New Indigo Kantha Quilted Short Kimono Jacket to wear this fall when there starts to be a chill in the air and you need a little jacket. I picture wearing it with an ivory blouse and jeans but you could also throw it over a dress at night right now. It comes in many other colors and patterns and other styles are offered by seller Tiyono.

My facialist recommended this Santal Oil. She and I always lament the fact that Santal 26 from Le Labo does not smell the same now as when it first debuted. This oil smells like the original. It’s supposed to be used in a diffuser and it will scent your home beautifully. If you want to use it as a perfume, you need to dilute the oil. It’s available in two different sizes and as a set with the diffuser. She also recommended Iso E Super Oil which is similar to Escentric Molecules Molecule 01.

FloralStreetArt is my new go-to source for vintage scarves. I bought three vintage Celine scarves from them and they threw in an extra one for free. They have scarves from Hermes, Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry, and more more brands at great prices. You can wrap them on your handbag or tie them in your hair. They are a great way to add a little something extra to your outfit.

Most doormats are too big for inside apartment buildings but this Nautical Rope Mat is smaller and also chicer than traditional mats. The manila rope might seem like it’s just for coastal areas, they can work anywhere inside and out and get better with age. You can find other mats and lots of knotted accessories from MysticKnotwork.

Need gifts for your bridesmaids or for a wedding shower? These Personalized Straw Basket Bags would make perfect presents.

I found this Scalloped Raffia Lampshade when I was searching for a chicer lampshade for an extra lamp I bought because my apartment has no overhead light fixtures. ZZCustomDesign has a multitude of raffia shades with custom trim colors and fabric shades in different sizes from which to choose so there is definitely something for everyone.

The most frustrating thing is when something I love is discontinued. I would love to replace my living room rug with a new version of the one I have but the retailer I bought it from no longer offers any small sizes. I’ve been researching other options and this Natural Jute Handmade Braided Rug is looking like a contender. DhurrieWorld gets rave reviews and offers tons of different jute and cotton rugs in multiple sizes.

I sound like a broken record but everyone really does ask me about my pearl earrings that I bought in Florence so I always try to find alternative options to recommend. I love these Pearl Drop Earrings and you can’t beat the $55 price tag.

I’ve been looking for travel related things lately as we start to get back on the road and found this great Etsy shop HiromiParis full of travel accessories handmade in France. I was on a press trip once and was a bit horrified when a girl asked someone at the small hotel for a plastic bag for her laundry. I think it’s time she invest in a nice lingerie bag for her clean things and a laundry bag to separate out her dirty clothes. This seller offers some great floral prints as well as chic neutral stripes for men. They would make great gifts for anyone.

The best part of Etsy is how many sellers who offer custom embroidery or monogramming. I love these Custom Striped Bags that are perfect for make up or as a travel dopp kit, as well as a bag for small toys or crayons. There are many different color and style options for the monograms and names too.

Hope this helps you think of Etsy the next time you need something for yourself or a gfit.

XOXO,

HC
