Tennis Anyone? Racquet Chic Picks for On and Off the Court
I love to watch tennis, especially Wimbledon. I love the history and the old school elegance of the All England Club. But I’m a terrible player so my friend Eleanor Banco Lasko, who is an amazing tennis player and competitor, has graciously helped me put this post together. We’ve been working on it since the French Open, another great tournament, but I think it was well worth the wait. Eleanor has introduced me to some wonderful small brands like Hedge and Classic Prep out of Rowayton, Connecticut, and her favorite tennis dress and sneakers. I scoured the internet for the chicest tennis offerings. The Ralph Lauren Wimbledon collection is almost sold out so I wouldn’t snooze if you see something you like. The same with the New Balance x Staud Tennis collaboration. But there are still some great tennis offerings from Tory Burch Sport, Brooks Brothers x Fila, and Tuckernuck, Kule. If you don’t play tennis either, I think you will still enjoy love this post.
Eleanor’s favorite brand of tennis racquet is Babalot.
I’ve decided that I really want to attend Wimbledon next year and this book, Wimbledon: The Official History, sounds like a great way to learn everything about the tournament.
How chic is this Marysia Sport scalloped recycled-fibre tennis dress?

This Tennis Partners Patch Keychain is so cute but I’d probably take some pliers and pull off the brand logo.
I’ve posted this book, String Theory: David Foster Wallace on Tennis, for Father’s Day and it’s a great book for tennis lovers and non-lovers alike.

After watching The French documentary on Metrograph, I wanted to learn more about the players at that time. Björn Borg and the Super-Swedes: Stefan Edberg, Mats Wilander, and the Golden Era of Tennis is the perfect way to do that.
If you love tennis, I highly recommend a trip to The International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island. You really get your money’s worth. The museum has extensive exhibitions on the history of tennis from the beginning though the players of today. Plus you can tour the historic building and grounds of grass tennis courts. It’s one of my favorite places to visit in Newport.
Final note, the Duchess of Cambridge took over as royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club from The Queen and will be in attendance at the Women’s and Men’s Finals of Wimbledon on Saturday and Sunday which should make for some fun viewing.
