Madame’s Magical Menagerie by Ken Fulk

04 . 28 . 17This year marks my 10th year covering the Kips Bay Decorator Show House. It’s always the highlight of the spring social season and I was just as excited to tour the house this year as I was in 2007. I ran into Honorary Chair Bunny Williams on my way out and she was just as excited too. There are so many great designers participating this year and so many beautiful rooms that I know you will love.
I usually like to start my coverage with one of the top floor rooms but as soon as I saw Ken Fulk‘s room, I knew it was the perfect kick off. He named it Madame’s Magical Menagerie and the amount of thoughtful details that went into this room reveal why he’s such a sought after interior designer and event planner. He created the room as the scene of an intimate supper in the Upper East Side dining room of grande dame Madame F. whose garden is secretly filled with wayward zoo animals. You can see all the animals in the custom designed de Gournay wallpaper that is the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous dining table filled with Hermes china and overflowing flowers.
The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is located at 125 East 65th Street. It opens to the public on Tuesday, May 2 and will run through June 1, 2017. All proceeds from the house benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
Bon week-end !
