Habitually Chic Favorite Things Gift Guide 2019: No.1
by habituallychic
11 . 09 . 19I wanted to begin my holiday gift guides early year with some of my favorite things since you have six less days to shop before Christmas. These gift ideas could be for host/hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, or items for anyone on your list, even yourself. I also like mixing my lists with presents for all ages and sexes to help you think outside the box.
If haven’t taken your Christmas card photo yet, this Girls ruffle-trim flannel dress in snowy Stewart tartan would be perfect for it.
These Lou Babe Mary Janes are perfect for the baby who has everything.
Don’t forget Fido this season. This holiday dog sweater comes in different sizes and 15 different patterns perfect for any pooch.
The Diptyque holiday candles are highly anticipated each year and the large sizes have already sold out in some stores. The three new candles for 2019 each carry a wish for the new year: protection, luck and harmony. The green Protective Pine Candle Candle will cover those who light it with its protective aura, featuring notes of Siberian and Balsam fir, cedar, and aromatic notes of basil and sage. Get them before they’re gone!
Another item that sold out early last year was the Dyson Hair Dryer. This Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Gift Edition & Red Presentation Case would make a great gift for anyone looking for a good hair day or the person whose noisy hair dryer wakes you up every morning.
I saw this book Metropolitan Stories at a bookstore in the Hamptons but couldn’t reach it. I regretted not asking a taller person to reach it for me after reading the premise. “A surreal love letter to this private side of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Metropolitan Stories unfolds in a series of amusing and poignant vignettes in which we discover larger-than-life characters, the downside of survival, and the powerful voices of the art itself. The result is a novel bursting with magic, humor, and energetic detail, but also a beautiful book about introspection, an ode to lives lived for art, ultimately building a powerful collage of human experience and the world of the imagination.” Order it for the art lover in your life. I just ordered my own copy and can’t wait to start reading.
You could but this Le Creuset Signature Cast-Iron Round Dutch Oven for the cook in your life but I think it would be even better for the person who needs to learn how to cook. Tuck a gift certificate for cooking lessons and a gift card to their local supermarket inside and wait for them to invite you over for dinner. It comes in 25 different colors and eight different sizes and is currently 20% off.
This grey Wool Blend Sleep Set includes a throw blanket, hot water bottle, and eye mask and would be perfect for your friend with the drafty cabin upstate or an English country house. Add the matching grey Cableknit Wool Blend Slippers and you’ll be invited back every weekend.
I suggest Miguel Flores-Vianna’s new book A Wandering Eye: Travels with My Phone for your friend or family member with wanderlust or an appreciation for photography.
This feather-trimmed crepe de chine pajama set would be perfect for the hostess with the mostess to wear for a dinner party but they can also be worn for a night on the town. Best thing is that you wouldn’t even have to change when you got home.
The only way I would wear an Apple Watch is if it was the Hermès version. But if you have a friend who hikes or an older family member you are worried about living alone, you should buy them the Apple Watch Series 5 with fall detection. You have to turn on the feature that will call the police and give them your location if you fall and don’t respond to the prompt that you are ok. The stories of it saving people’s lives after they fell while out hiking and were unable to move are amazing.
This Oeno Sommelier Set would be a great gift for anyone looking to learn more about wine pairings and best vintage years.
For the Francophile or fashionista in your life, I recommend this Chanel Radiant in Red Set that includes their signature red lipstick and nail polish. It would be perfect to buy yourself for holiday parties too.
Any Royal Watcher or fan of fashion will appreciate The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe. It was written by The Queen’s personal dresser Angela Kelly with permission from The Queen and includes stories from their 25 years of working together.
Maybe add this Gemma Scarf in Eastbury Print with the book as a nod to The Queen. It’s also available in a cream and gold print.
I have the original Apple AirPods and they come in handy when you want to charge your phone while listening to music or watching a movie while traveling. The new Apple AirPods Pro are even more advanced and “Active Noise Cancellation for immersive sound, Transparency mode so you can hear your surroundings, and a customizable fit for all-day comfort.” If anyone is looking for a gift to buy me this Christmas, you are welcome to slip these in my stocking.
What kitty doesn’t deserve this Old St. Nick Cat Bowl. It’s so cute. Pair it with the Pet Water Fountain for the ultimate furry friend gift.
This Christmas Tree Fair Isle Cardigan is so cute I wish it came in adult sizes.
A most generous gift would be tucking tickets to Wimbledon into this Convertible Tennis Bag. I don’t even play tennis and I’d still love to attend Wimbledon. The bag is also available in navy blue with ivory trim.
Your bachelor brother or any art lover would appreciate The SkateRoom + Jean-Michel Basquiat Set of Three Printed Wooden Skateboards. It’s available in four other Basquiat paintings. The SkateRoom also offers single and double boards in collaboration with other artists.
Are you giving or getting a puppy this holiday season? If so, include this chic dog bed. It’s available in two sizes and two different fabrics.
Know someone training for a marathon or who just likes to workout hard? They would really appreciate this Theragun G3PRO Percussive Therapy Device, Handheld Deep Tissue Professional Massager. It’s all the rage on Instagram and really helps with sore muscles.
A Book Lover’s Guide to New York is “an illustrated guide to New York City tailored for the book-obsessed explorer showcasing the city’s best bookshops; libraries; homes and haunts of world-famous writers; and scenes from literary classics with charming drawings by the famed New Yorker cover artist Pierre Le-Tan.” Perfect for anyone who loves books and New York.
The NuFace FIX Line Smoothing Device looks perfect for smoothing and tightening the eyes of someone who travels often.
This Reindeer Wool-Blend Sweater would look cute on any little boy this winter.
If you’re tired of the usual tan shearling slippers, try these chic Velvet Shearling Slippers. They’re available in five colors so you could buy a pair for every women in your family.
When money is no object and you need a gift for the man who has everything, the Ralph Lauren Home Parker Mix Box is the perfect gift.
These Hand Hooked Holiday Pillows need at least five weeks lead time but that gives you plenty of time to order them as a Christmas gift for your family and friends.
This Old St. Nick Bambini Plate, Mug & Bowl Set would be so cute to use for your kids during the month of December or as a set to leave out cookies, carrots, and cocoa for Santa and his reindeer on Christmas Eve.
Keep your clothes clean and look cute as a button while baking cookies with your kids in this Santa Adult Apron and Kids Elf Apron.
You’re on your own with wrapping and ribbons. Happy Shopping!
XOXO,
