It’s that time of year again.  Time to get out your wallet and do some shopping for an amazing cause.  The Housing Works Design on a Dime event begins Thursday, April 26 with the Opening Night Benefit.  It then opens to the public on Friday, April 27 and will be open until Saturday, April 28. […]

Try not to shop till you drop on Black Friday and please save some stamina to support Small Business Saturday on November 26th.  I am very lucky to live in New York where shopping is almost an Olympic event but it’s the small businesses and unique little stores that make it special.  Bleecker Street used […]

Pierre’s New Lair

12 . 06 . 10

A pilgrimage to the Pierre Hardy boutique in the Palais Royal is a part of every fashion girl’s trip to Paris.  Now according to Style.com, the trip only requires a cab since Pierre Hardy is opening an eponymous store at 30 Jane Street this Wednesday, December 8th.  An old garage was turned into a chic shop […]

Modeling for Mango

11 . 02 . 10

Not only does Olivia Palermo look like a model and date one but now she actually is one.  She and her handsome boyfriend Johannes Huebl are modeling for Mango‘s winter catalog.  Her hair is stick straight instead of styled in her signature curls but she till looks chic.  Also chic is the El Palace Hotel in […]

Dries Van Noten is a very busy designer.  As I wrote about recently, he just opened a new men’s store in Paris and now he just celebrated his new in store boutique on the third floor at Bergdorf Goodman.  I love that Dries puts as much thought into interior design as he does fashion design.  […]

The first looks from the upcoming Lanvin for H&M collaboration have been released and they have the fashion world in a tizzy.  The dresses are exactly what everyone loves about Lanvin and I’m sure they will be sold out in minutes.  I’m thinking about taking boxing lessons just so I can fight for one.  There […]

The biggest buzz this weekend was about the new Ralph Lauren boutique that opened on Madison Avenue.  Located across the street from his already famous Rhinelander mansion for men, this one is devoted to women and home.  Unlike most retailers who hire the “it architect” of the moment to create a modern store, Ralph Lauren […]

Club Monaco at Shopbop

10 . 13 . 10

Club Monaco is one of my favorite retailers in New York.  I always know I can find great clothing and accessories that don’t scream where I bought them.  I would always feel bad about posting my favorite pieces on Habitually Chic though because not many of my readers have access to their stores but all […]

Aero Update

07 . 27 . 10

I was shopping for clients in Soho last week and one of my favorite stops is always Aero. The shop is always inspiring and full of treasures but this time even more so. They had just unpacked and displayed a huge shipment of what they call “smalls.” If you need a hostess gift, a wedding […]

If you follow me on Twitter, then you know I’ve been stalking the progress of Lanvin store on Madison Avenue. Yesterday I noticed mannequins in the window and asked the nice French girl out front when they were going to open. I was rewarded with the words I was longing to hear, “tomorrow afternoon.” Well, […]

Chic Necklaces

06 . 11 . 10

I came across these amazing Ichiche necklaces yesterday on Vogue.com and I’m already thinking about buying them all! They are designed by Denise Spencer, an American based in Istanbul who has weaved local traditions and materials into the designs. They are actually quite reasonably priced with the necklaces seen here ranging from $169-$329. Happy Shopping!

Prada Print Collection

05 . 17 . 10

My flower obsession continues with the new Prada Prints Collection! Remember when Carrie exclaimed “Hello Lover” in reference to some shows in a store window on Sex and the City? Well, that’s what I thought when I saw this fabulous collection! The floral and print fabrics are from the Prada archives and the silhouettes were […]

If you haven’t spent all your money at Design on a Dime, then I suggest you hit the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse Pop Up Shop. As you may know, the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse has been postponed due to a lack of venue so this pop up shop will be a way for Kips Bay […]

There are a lot of wonderful events coming up in the next few weeks but the first I want to remind you about is Housing Works annual event Design on a Dime. More than 40 fabulous designers, stores and vendors have created rooms and donated products where everything is up for sale to benefit Housing […]
