Too Ghōud to be True

12 . 13 . 22

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I was recently in Paris for two weeks. My favorite thing to do is photograph what the Parisians are wearing. It was even more interesting this trip since the first week looked and felt like autumn and the second week looked and felt like winter. I would […]

One of the biggest questions after when will this end is when can we travel again. I don’t think we’ll be able to travel Europe again until late fall or possibly even next year but when we can, you may want to put Venice at the top of your must visit list. There you can […]

If you are anywhere in Italy from now until 2021, make sure you plan a visit to the Palazzo Grimani in Venice. It re-opened this summer with the spectacular Domus Grimani 1594 – 2019 exhibition after major restoration work which is the result of several architectural interventions carried out in the sixteenth century by Giovanni […]

California Cool

09 . 14 . 16

After years of bi-coastal living, Chance designer Julia Leach finally decided to give up her New York apartment and move to Venice, California. Any New Yorker who tells you they don’t think about moving somewhere else is totally lying. We all think about it, especially when it involves sunshine and fresh air. Julia didn’t waste […]

Before I head off on my next trip, I thought it might be a good idea to finally recap my two week trip to Italy last autumn which includes some of the things I wore along the way. I started  off in Milan for fashion week and then traveled on to Venice, Rome, and Florence before […]

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, I highly recommend the new documentary Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict. I had the pleasure of seeing the film earlier this year at the Tribeca Film Festival and it was the sole reason I decided to add Venice to my Italy trip itinerary this fall. This […]

09 . 30 . 15

Buongiorno from Venice! I apologize for a lack of post yesterday but the wifi in our hotel isn’t working. Normale. I’ll try to write a post from the high speed train to Rome on Friday or after I arrive in the Eternal City. In the meantime, I suggest you follow along on Instagram where I’l be […]

Arrivederci!

09 . 23 . 15

I’m off to the airport to catch my Alitalia flight to Italy tonight, the same airline that Pope Francis arrived in yesterday.  I was a little sad to be missing the Pope’s visit to New York until I found out he’s staying on East 72nd Street. Between his visit, the UN General Assembly, and the President […]

Italy Advice Needed

08 . 19 . 15

As I mentioned previously, I’m planning a trip to Italy this September/October that will include Milan, Venice, Rome, and Florence. Obviously, I know all the major sights but if you have any recommendations for places off the beaten path, charming cafes or new stores, please let me know. Grazie mille, HC

As I sit at my desk in front of my window and watch it snow once again, I am thinking about escaping. I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve never visited Venice.  I hope to remedy this situation this summer if not before and hopefully with a stay at the newly renovated Gritti Palace Hotel. After […]
